We haven’t visited a bike shop yet. Repairs on the go at our morning coffee stop. JR enjoying a coffee break in the Forest of Bowden.Head count everyday and several times a day to ensure we are still on track. Team all present. Shorter mileage and we thought it was going to be an easier day until we saw the climb above Slaidburn ahead. Reaching the summit in rain and wind. Too bad we couldn’t enjoy the view through the clouds. Too cold to linger at the top. We admired the Great stone of Fourstones on Tatham Fells. The Devil dropped the stone on the way to Devil’s Bridge at Kirby Lonsdale or it was thrown across the Irish Sea by the giant Finn McColl. No doubt someone will say it is a glacial erratic. Nonsense of course. After climbing all the hills a night of comfort in another four poster bed was very welcome.
